Hello I am a new user I installed K2 on my joomla 1.7 web site but at the end there is an error message and the menu K2 does not appear in component menu.

This is probably a bad installation due to file permissions on the server.

I've had this kind of error for an old version of 2.5SVN...

I've checked my file permissions and reinstalled K2 2.5 directly above the previous one and it was fixed.

Generally files 644 and folders 755

I don't want to be leeching from Sidy Sembas thread, but since we probably got the same problem I'll stay. Just tell me if I should make an own thread.

After changing all the files to 644 and folder to 755, I got the same error message. So I tried to set 755 on both the folder and the files, and still no luck.

A rough translation from the Swedish error message should be something like: "There were errors in the construction of admin menus"

And when I try to uninstall the K2 package: "Unable to remove the management menus"

There was a user who had this problem in Joomla Forum but was solved by deleting tables related to components or module using phpMyAdmin and re-installing again. You can try this. See here
