I have just installed K2 on my joomla site and i plan to use k2 for handling news and stuff on the frontpage

the thing is i want the news to be more like wordpress style

Like this www.exceed-guild.org/site/ where the news goes down nicely and the newest new on top

the thing is, i want to get rid of the image and the big category text and make it so its just one collum like on the wordpress site i linked

is this possible?

It looks like you are pretty close, For the category your using on the frontpage, go thru the settings
Turn all columns to 1
In the category and item view in category listings turn of everything you dont want to show

yeah the problem is it is set to 1 and all images set to hide

but it doest change anything

it is set to take settings from the group and i have cleared cache and that stuff

Im still lost on this, cant seem to get it sorted :(
got it close tho, but still got the error :(
