Hi Sophie,
What are you using to upload the image?
Have you check folder permissions?
Does the user have permission to upload?
What file format is being used?
What joomla/K2 versions are you using?

Just some initial questions.

Simon

The issue was my editor, I switch it to JCE and I was able to use that to upload images.

Thank you so so much Simon for your help.

I am seeing this issue also. I should clarify; this seems like a front end k2 only issue. The Image tab upload works fine. The image button in the editor works fine (tinymce) and only the bottom (below the editor) image upload button is effected for me. Clicking it gives me a blank pop up with an error. See screen shot.

  • Im using Joomla 1.7.3
  • K2: 2.5.4
  • Back end seems to work just fine
  • Front end joomla articles seems to have no issues.
  • My permissions on my server all seem correct for the Joomla images and media folders.
  • Im new to the added 1.7 feature of super user permissions but all seems set correct for super user. I have changed nothing.
I found some problems folks were trying to fix in 1.6 with the joomla article component having a similar issue. Maybe that can point us to a solution. I am just trying V2.5.4 for the first time, but I have checked through the Image plugin setting, premissions, k2 user settings, and I see nothing out of place. I cant figure this out??

I have seen SEVERAL threads in a few different forums pertaining to this issue...

I have the same problem :(

I have a menu item that is set to be visable only to "special" usertypes... the menu item is the front end add a blog view from k2....

The view loads just fine... and it seems to work... however when I try to add any images by clicking the image button below the editor I see the error:

Error
