the purpose is exactly the same for me : I'd need a frontage module to display only categories with image, title of category and description (content) entered for this category.

The previous article and mods don't work for me since I'm using K2 with J!1.7

I have multiple categories (it's a product catalog as well), example :

- CAR accessories
- - lights
- - gear
- - paint

the idea is to show only the image+title+content of lights, gear and paint.

does anybody have a solution for this ? or is there a commercial/free plugin for this ?
I'm ok to pay, if the display option are multiple (vertical or horizontal/ column+row amount / module class suffix/ number of categories to show/ amount of text to be displayed/ etc etc ...)

Hi. Put all your categories under a master "Catalog" category. Set all the categories to inherit settings from the "Catalog" category. Then go to "Catalog" category edit page and locate the setting named "Catalog mode". Set this to "Yes". Finally make a menu link to the "Catalog" category.
