This is my third attempt to get an answer for my question. How can I convert a site with over 5300 pages? My site errors out after 30 seconds. What shall I do to K2 my site? Thanks!

We need more information. Can we assume that you have a joomla site with over 5000 joomla articles and you are using the import feature of K2?
Please include all details, versions, and problems.
Stabbing at this have you checked you php.ini for max_execution_time = 30

Don't try to do this on live site even if you can manage php maximum execution time in your hosting account.

Setup local copy of your site, your may use WAMP or similar solution, configure you php.ini to increase execution time and upload limits.

When finish converting articles - export/import your k2 database tables from local server to hosting via phpMyadmin. Make backup previously.
Also it may be nesessary to copy media/k2 folder via ftp
