Hi, I want to migrate a non K2 Joomla 1.5 site to a k2 Joomla 1.7 site. I'm just wandering if I can:

1. install K2 on the old site,
2. import all the Joomla content into K2,
3. export the k2 tables to a fresh k2 install on a Joomla 1.7 site

or are the database tables / structure different for each version of Joomla?

I would first backup the entire 1.5 site and then install k2 2.5
next run jupgrade to get the site to 1.7
You may need to reinstall k2 2.5 on the 1.7 site along with other modules and components

Thanks William, that sounds like a plan. Although the site is old and I'd prefer a fresh install to remove any potential issues. So I tried my way and it worked - kind of ;)

On the front end for k2 items I get
but the database structure must be the same because k2 is working fine in the backend, so now I have all the content and categories in k2 2.5

I haven't imported all the old users into the new install, so will need to change the author for all 90 pages. Could it be something to do with that?
