Hi,

I'm new to K2 and I'm having a small problem. Basically when I go to the front end the "edit item" button wont display correctly for rockettheme template.

If i change the template to beez_20 the the "Edit Item" button shows up correctly, but when using RT Modulous template it places the words Edit Item infront of the item title and the hyperlink is missing.

This is from beez_20:

I'm not sure what is affecting the generation of the K2 template as I thought it was separate to the Joomla template?

Any help greatly appreciated.

Please help me with this if you found a solution. I am running RT Enigma wit K2 2.5.1 and there is no Edit item link or button showing for the front end. Where can I find the files to fix this problem. Did you get your problem resolved? It is very similar to mine. The RT template is overriding something in K2.

Had same problem here. Solved right now . It is very simple to solve. Need to go to your template settings and in the advanced Tab disable "Build Titles Spans".

I'm using RT Quantive template for my J1.5 website.
I'was using K2 2.1 and was a bit disappointed to have my dark template background messing up with the K2 modal editing template.
So I updated K2 v2.1 to v.2.5.3 and this was a lot better except for one major issue : no edit link visible !!!
All my users with Joomla and K2 editing permissions were enabled to edit in frontend. :(

A try to find out the bug but didn't found it yet.
It shoud be a css conflict though between k2.css and my template css.

I hope K2 team wil find a Fix for that issue. ;)

However, I solved my problem with these changes :

In directory com_k2\templates\default\
In files : category_item.php, user.php and item.php
Find line with : 
Add html code to next line with : <a></a>

Works well for me !

Yes that works so that you can now see the "Edit Item" link

BUT

now you have lost the Title CSS styling. So if you want the following then turning it off is not the perfect solution: "Title spans enable custom CSS styling for the first word of the titles, with this setting enabled the first word of a title can be colored and styled differently to the second word and the rest of the title."

I hate to brag..... :-) because I am usually wrong LOL..... BUT here is a solution:
