I honestly have no idea how to set this up.

I would really just want a "submit content" menu item and a edit icon by each article in frontend, just like there is standard.

I tried going to menu manager > new, where there was a "item edit form", this only gives a 404 though.

K2 2.5.1
apache mod rewrite
standard joomla htaccess file enabled

going directly to
/component/k2/item/add?tmpl=component

gives a 403 error
