I'm trying to set up my site like getk2.org. When you log in your presented with the "My Account" menu item where you can edit your k2 profile. I can't for the life of me find the correct menu item in my Joomla 1.7 site. How can you have a menu item that links to your k2 profile allowing you to edit your details and user extended fields?

Try publishing the K2 user module in and take a look at the url for my account
You can put
YOURSITE.COM/index.php/login-bottom/profile?layout=edit
into a menu choice if necessary and if a user is logged in it should work

I had the same pb and followed your solution.
I got the link, but the pb is that it leads me on the normal joomla edit profile form, and not on the K2 one.

I can edit the joomla profile but not the K2 user profile (so can't have access to the avatar, description, etc .....).

Also, in the K2 parameters when I set activate the K2 user profile on YES, if I don't enable the K2_Recaptcha_on_registration on NO ==> can't register because it tells me "wrong recaptcha" (I precise I entered the recaptcha's keys fine), and if I set it on YES then it doesn't show me the ReCaptcha and of course, I can't register either as it tells me that the words entered don't correspond to the one showed !

Any idea ?

For the edit k2 profile try this -
create a new menu item
type=external url
link= http : // YOURSITE.COM/index.php?option=com_users&view=profile&layout=edit
(remove spaces)

I did something similar, used the external url menu item and linked it to
