I have Joomla 1.7.3 and K2 2.5.4. When I edit a K2 article with the frontend edit and I press the Close button, it DOES NOT close the modal window. It reloads the modal window with the category page. This ONLY happens with Chrome and Safari, it works as expected in IE and Firefox. The Save button works as designed and the X for the modal window works as designed.

Almost the same with me.

• Clicking edit item not a poupup will jump, but the page reloads with the editor.
• In Safari it simple soes nothing, doesn't close the window.
• In Chrome clicking Close it closes the whole page!!

I finished up with K2 a year before because of similar and closing issue and as nobody helped me to solve this issue in the forum.

Have anybody an idea or a solution on this, will anybody help, or it is the same page again...?

For me I have the solution, perhaps it helps to you: avoid special characters in the name field.
Of course it is clever to avoid special characters in username field as well.
