Set user level via menu was created by Chris Pettipiere
Hi all,

what I need to do is filter content via a k2 or joomla user type.
but the client wants no login or sign up - crazy I know.

But I understand what they want to do:

They basically want infomation to be filtered by the vistor selecting what type of visitor they are: student - future student - business - press

rather than creating lots of menus that require maintanance they want to create a menu link that sets the user at user level that then will dictate what they can see.

so:
item 1 - will be visiable to student, & press
item 2 - everyone
item 3 - visable to student and future student
item 4 - visable to press and business

They will set what tpe of user they are by selecting a menu item - student, business, press, etc... and until they select another level it will leave them at that level.

It must log them in and out just via a sigle menu click.

eg. I click student - it sets my level at student.
I then navigate the site and it remembers me as a student until I click a different level. I then click Business it logs me out of the student level and then logs me into the Business level.

I can see this being a database nightmare - anybody have a solution?

Thanks

Chris

I see your problem, but, what i do not understand is what will stop any user from clicking and loggin in as anyone they choose to see whatever part that you have just given them access to via the menu choices
