Is there an option/setting to display the Frontend Editing/Adding Item Page to Main page instead of going to a new page or modal window?

There was a discussion about this in the old forum at community.getk2.org. I cannot remember if it was done without changing the core. There were also several lively discussions about the modal window

ive tried digging up the old community site, and came up with nothing yet :(

anyone knew how? or got an idea how?

i got a temporarly solution, because my login module is displayed in a modal window already, and loading the modal windows for comments or new item, just showemd my main menu all messed up...

just add " target="_blank" in userblock.php in modules-k2-user
