I have a website in Joomla 1.5. Now i have transfert the articles, categories and images in Joomla 1.7 new website.
In the old site i have JCOMMENTS and now i want to try a good system of K2 comments.
Question:

Why when i have a user, normally registrated (in my website not want registration possibility), during insert comment, name, and at the and mail...then click in a SUBMIT COMMENT button.....The Name or Email Address you typed is already in use!

Why????? How can I make sure this never happens? I remind you that I do not have the login module.

I have exactly the same problem. I'm using Joomla 2.5.4 and K2 2.5.6

You might try firebug, and set the form field and its desc to display:none

I have this issue as well with J2.5.4 and K2 2.5.4 :(

Maybe I misunderstand the intention, but I can't see how suppressing the message "Email Address you typed is already in use" will help in this case, as the comment is never being posted and therefore does not bring the user further :(

I've seen a solution on TemplateMonster where you disable the email check entirely, but this does not work for me as the submitting of the comment does not seem to happen either. All I get is a spinning progress-wheel under the Captcha, which never stops...

Doen anybody have other take on this?

Edit: Not sure why, but giving the solution from TemplateMonster another go, actually solved my problem! Seems to work for me now..!

On k2 realease on page www.joomlaworks.net/content/view/64/34/ I read this:

- Comments: do not let people post comments using email addresses and/or name from site users!

(It's the cause that generate my problem.)

This is happening because you are not logged in and you provide username or email of a registered user. If you really are the one you claim, first login and then comment.
