Site I am about to launch, first time using K2:

This is in Joomla 1.7 using latest K2 (I believe)

I have published the K2 User to the panel1 position and it all works well when I log in as an AUTHOR, and gives me a few options, but NOT the option to Create an Item. I want the logged in AUTHOR to be able to create a blog item for our community member's blog.

I must be missing some small setting. Please help.
