From J1.5 to J2.5 was created by Seth Hoffman
Hi there,
I have been running a blog using k2 for about a year and a half. I would like to upgrade it to 2.5 but have decided to redesign the site from scratch. How can I import the old database into the new site? I tried just a straight import from phpmyadmin and, while the DB successfully imported, none of the k2 articles are registering in the backend. I'm sure I'm making some newbie mistakes here but would really appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction. One thing I noticed was that the prefix in the DB was different from 1.5( jos ) to 2.5 (x2yde). There are hundreds of blog posts so importing them would be super helpful. Thanks in advance!

There are database changes between 1.5 and 2.5
use jupgrade to get all the k2 tables copied
there is a thread on here to get a few quirks fixed, 2 lines in phpmyadmin sql box
then do a sql dump and import all the files into your 2.5 install
should work then

If you have a large site, then take care, read here: docs.joomla.org/Fixing_the_assets_table
