I am started to build an website and would love to use K2 with that. The features I am looking forward to are the comments, votes and social buttons!

But I was wondering, is it possible to let K2 show articles like show on my website (Default category List of Joomla)

Yes,
you will need to change the templates:
components/com_k2/templates

You will find the "default" template in there. Make a copy first before you start changing stuff..

Oke, cool! But looking from the files it takes some editing the PHP files I guess?
