With the new version you screwed up the extra fields

if a category has like 3 extra fields and you only use the 1st and 3rd extra field. i get this message:


[{"name":"","value":"http:\/\/","target":"new"}]

if i use all three extrafields it works just fine...


i tried it also with 4 extra fields, if you use all of them it works fine...but if you let just one field blank, it will show the code above in the frontend at the position of the 4th idem, no matter if the item has data in it or not.

only if you have data in the fields 1-3 the error wont show up if you have nothing at extra field 4...


Note:
i did the numbering of the extra fields by the position in the extrafield category...

I have 19 extra fields across 5 groups and I haven't seen that error. Can you provide a link to your site so we can see firsthand what might be happening? Have you adjusted the template at all?

From your post, it sounds like you are having problems with the Link field? What types of fields do you have?

and at the bottom you can see the error. it was working fine in k2 2.5.4 i just updated yesterday to the latest version and this error poped up...

my extra fields are 3 link-fields in every category is the same extra fields group.


btw i havent edited anything ....


but the wired thing is, if i fill in something in all 3 ling extra fields it works fine...

i just reinstalled 2.5.4 and it works all fine there wit my extrafields, i updated again to 2.5.5 and same thing again. can somebody tell me which file is responsibly for getting the extrafields from the database and eventually the template file?

i will compare them, but it is definetly on K2 site...

I thought it was just me with the extra field problem!
I just checked on the bug tracker and there is a revised file which I copied and pasted the code in to the K2.5.5 updated site and all is good again !!!

Yep..that did it. Remember to go to ../components/com_k2/models/item.php

and replace THAT file.

Thanks for this thread! I was just sweating over the 2.5.5 update breaking about 30 pages. This item.php fix nailed it. They should move that into the release ASAP.

Thanks for this. I thought it was something in my template extra field processing, glad to see it wasn't my fault! Surprised it hasn't been officially patched yet. I guess not too many people use extra fields or something?
