K2 multiple columns items was created by Coen Commijs
Hi K2 lovers,

I'm busy making a site and I would like to make a K2-item into a 2 columns.
I've made a work around to edit a table in dreamweaver and add the code to the simple HTML-editor in the K2-content, but I have to ad my CSS directly in a style-tag, which is not very flexible in to use in multiple browsers.
I'm using Joomla 1.7 and a theme from RocketTheme (Momentum)
Is there a standard option within K2 to set your item at 2 columns.
If I check the options in 'Categories' there is are a lot of choices, but nothing which involves the settings of the columns.

So is there a way to do this?

sounds like you are trying to create a modified item template.

copy your default template folder and give it a new name.

components/com_k2/templates/default
to
components/com_k2/templates/mytemplate

then in there edit item.php to create the item layout you want.

then in your category settings, set mytemplate as the template in your params.

this is how you modify the layout of a single item layout.

Hi BJS,

Thanks for your reply, I'm giving this a try. I was already wondering why the option 'template' was in K2 =)
I'm getting there swell by adding CSS to my module css-name, but this sounds like a better way!
Cheers.
