Article Aging across multiple display sections. was created by jeffreywhunter
We are converting a site from another platform (ijoomla news portal) to K2 and addressing a variety of planning issues. The first one is article aging.

Imagine a front page with three main modules/display areas (and other content/ads in between). The three modules are Top Story (the most recent article published in a particular category (say latestnews)), Latest News (5 of the next most recent articles in the latest news category), more latest news (the next 10 articles) and finally an off-home page archive that displays all the articles.

We want to implement K2 to support this structure. Latest article in Top Story module, then the next 5 articles in Latest news and finally aging into the More Latest news and eventually to an Archive Category (you can visit www.studenthousingbusiness.com to see how it currently works).

We have K2 installed and working fine, but we've not been able to identify a way to age articles through multiple front page modules.

Thanks in advance for your assistance...

The simplest way to do that would be to have different categories and move the items into the other categories to feed them, but i assume from you question you want it to happen automagically. There may be a way to do it without custom programming to change the categories based on the number items in the category, say the top 5 stay in original category, the next ten are put into a different category, and so on...and run the script every day or week
