If you are installing k2 for the first time, and there is already joomla content articles, and categories, there is a button to import from j articles to k2 items all at once. Click this only once or you will get duplicates.
If you are trying to move data from articles in one site to another, try exporting with phpmyadmin and then look in the extend k2 directory here for csv import tool
