Thanks for the response William. Tried that, to no avail.

I ought to add that imported AM items work - whether in their original categories or in new categories created by K2.

I would be grateful for any further advice - I use K2 on my other (Joomla 1.5) sites and am reluctant to switch back to Article Manager, if it can be avoided.

Without access to see the setup, its difficult to tell whats going on.
If you dont have many items yet you can delete the items, and categories and reimport them. that may work
but you may end up with duplicate users

you might try upgrading k2 first to the latest version

For those of you that have the same problem, William is going to have a look at my site when he can fit it in (I've given him a root login) and I'll post a solution here as soon as we have one.
