SEO friendly URL was created by Nik
Hi
I'm working on the backend of a website which uses Joomla 1.7 and it has K2 installed on it and I have very little experience working with K2
All the items/menus in that are in K2, the URLs for them are like this: www.broadgategp.co.uk/component/k2/itemlist/category/7-occupational-health
I need the URL to read like this: www.broadgategp.co.uk/occupational-health
All the other menus which were uploaded using Joomla, their URLs are all SEO friendly.
Does anyone know how to change/fix this? Your help will be much appreciated.
Cheers,
Nik

Hello,
To fix this, I used a paid extension: sh404sef .
That extension really did the job for me.

To get it exactly like that you should get SH404SEF or else you can get something like this
If you give the categories a menu item you can get something like this for free:
domain.tld/category-name/1-occupational-health
If you give the categories a menu item you can get something like this for free:
domain.tld/category-name/1-occupational-health

K2 does not normally include the "component/k2" in the URL....it will include "item" in the url if it is an article and "category" if it is a category, but not the above...
So something must be wrong in your installation...
Not much help, I know, but it must be said that this is not what normally happens

This isn't normal if you got URL Rewrite enabled...Nik wrote: All the items/menus in that are in K2, the URLs for them are like this: www.broadgategp.co.uk/component/k2/itemlist/category/7-occupational-health

I'm also wondering about this.
I'm running various joomla sites, some of them use k2 some of them don't.
All have URL rewrite turned on.
Sites that don't use K2 rewrite urls correctly.
Sites that do use K2 add "component/k2/item" in URL
Could this be a K2 setting somwhere ?
