in my k2 section , on the right hand side i was wanting to change the display name to another name besides my name how do i do that i have not updated the k2 part. running joomla 1.7 please reply cheers thank you for you help.

Im not sure what you want to change, perhaps you can elaborate further?

1. when you go to components- k2

2. click on add new item

3.on the right-hand side

4. how do you change the author to another name in the list & set it as the default author ??

The "default" author is the user that is logged in. When you are logged in as Superuser than "Superuser" is the default author. Besides my admin account I have an author account with my full name. I "switch personalities" depending on what I want to do.

i would like switch the default user to just one name , instead of logging in cause that's a pain.

there must be a way to change the default name.

please reply if you know , no guessing just for the fun of it !!!!!!!

You can of course use Author Alias and type in whatever name you want ;)
