I have had success hard coding extra fields for any single category and rendering them in categories view, but it's a lot of work to modify so many k2 files. This would seem to makes it slightly proprietary and difficult to maintain.

My question is... Are there any accessories out there for k2 that simplifies this process? Or is anyone interested in starting a dialogue about pioneering this feature: the hard coded changes I made to achieve this effect might need to be replaced with an interface that allows for the addition/modification/deletion of 'extra category fields'.

I need to refresh my memory regarding the specific changes I made to achieve this affect and review the extra fields feature as implemented for articles.
