I am working for a newspaper and we use k2 that has been really useful.

Some reporters have only frontend access, but when they submit an article then it appears locked to the administrator, so noone else is able to edit the article before approving it.

It looks like the user continues editing.

The only solution is to perform Global Checkin all the time so as all the locked articles are unlocked.

Hi. When user clicks the close button or the modal x button the item will unlock. If user closes the browser window without hitting one of those buttons then it will remain locked. In this case a global checkin is the only way to go.

Close button doesn't seem to work in front end. it doesn't close the article and it continues to look locked in administration.

When I use frontend to submit article, the close button is working, but the article is checked out for other admins.

I will make some tests to verify the issue and let you know.
