Greatings,
I've a very strange problem with my template for K2, I'll try to explain:
- followed the template gude;
- created the correct structure inside my template directory to have a new folder with my own theme;
- modified the "category_item.php" and all goes well;
- now, I'm trying to modify the "item.php" but nothing happens!!!

I mean: if I try to add some fake words in any line of the item.php nothing change when I see a single article...

What I'm missing? :S :side: :pinch:

Please HELP!

Ah, my Joomla version is 2.5 and K2 latest release.

Thanks for your help...

Are you making an override of the default K2 template or you renamed it? You have to select the template in the category settings.

Hi,

I was beating my head against a wall with a similar problem. Even with an override selected, it was still using the default item.php

I realized you must have all the times in the override folder, not just the individual ones you want to override.
Otherwise it will always revert to the default.

This would be a nice bit of info to include in the tutorial, just for others who might run into the same issue.

Hi. This is not 100% true. You can only override the layouts you want. But if your layout has sublayouts ( category.php and category_item.php for example ) is a good practice to override both.

Odd, unless I include all the template files in templates/<template>/html/com_k2/templates/<subtemplate> it would consistently revert to the default template.

If I had /<template>/html/com_k2/templates/default/ folder included, it would use it. Otherwise it would use components/com_k2/templates/default.

At any rate, I did get it figured out and working nicely now and am working on the category layouts now to better display multiple articles from multiple categories.
