What is it about you and these Social sharing buttons

When K2 was upgraded before you set to show by Default now with this upgrade it is imposable to hide them

In Edit category set to Social sharing - Twitter button - Facebook button - Google +1 button all set to Hide
in edit Items set to Social sharing - Twitter button - Facebook button - Google +1 button all set to Hide

but they are always shown

Hi. Just tested with no issues. Since you upgraded you should also apply layout changes. We provide them at getk2.org/documentation/tutorials/item/77-k2-template-override-package-comparison.

Hi, I'm having the exact same problem. I need to hide the Social Sharing icons (Google Buzz, Facebook, Digg, Delicious, etc.) because I don't need them at this time. In the various parameters, I cannot find where to hide them!

Will installing this template override help me? I am running K2 version 2.5.7. Should I install the latest template override (getk2.org/assets/files/K2_v2.5.1_override_package.zip)?

Please let me know.

If you don´t mind using brute force and doing this every time you update K2 go to:

\components\com_k2\templates\listing\item.php

and delte from line 304 to 351

Enjoy

@Mini

You need to check that the layout files of your site do have the code that is generating those buttons exactly as it appears in /components/com_k2/templates/default/item.php. Then you can handle those buttons by the category options.

@kisuan

You do not need to do this every time you update K2. That's why template overrides are. Take a read at getk2.org/documentation/tutorials/item/174-templating-with-k2-and-the-concepts-of-sub-templates
