Hi, I have installed the latest version of k2 and the problem I have is the default frontpage of k2 is blank, I have created 4 categories.
What I want is to see the frontpage only with the K2 categories.

You need to go to the Main Menu and change the homepage 'type' to the K2 component. Hope that helps :)

I have the same problem. I can do it via the k2 content module, but i would like to know why if the Default menu loads something from K2 it appears empty.

Are you sure you have set the categorys' parameters correctly? The menu item you create is pointing towards a category or multiple categories? If is pointing towards multiple categories are those parameters correct?
Could you describe the steps you are taking in order to create that default menu item?
