How can I turn off a module position on a page when using a K2 categories menu item type?

For example I want this sort of thing:

-Home
--Destinations
---France
----Paris

---

Hotel 1

---

Hotel 2

---

Hotel 3
----Pyrennees

---

Hotel 1

etc

but I don't want the menu to appear in the left hand module position on the Hotel pages. As I am relying on the menu being built by the component I can only specify the module position on the destinations menu item.

Do I need to build the menu by hand?

Is there a work around for this? Presumabley in the items I can use {loadposition ....} to load a specific module?

okay - ignore me. Just create a menu and link each item to the category item type and it works fine - set the module position as an item and then choose which pages to show it on!
