It would be nice to be able to bulk tag items.

Perhaps through the items manager.

Second this request. Would certainly improve work flow. The tags manager should allow multiple tag creation.

since we're talking about tags I have a couple of other thoughts.

1) ordering of tags in the select box by creation date is a pain. Very non intuitive for finding tags for all other users. Alpha list would be much better

2) scroll box for tagging is way to small. I'd like to see something more like the tag cloud from front end, mirrored on the item creation panel. This would be much easier to use.

I agree. Tags in tag box should be alphabetized.

New tags would be better going to the top, since you immediately need to use them - OR - get automagically added to the tags list for that article, etc.

I love the idea of the Tag cloud being recreated, as long as it is also alphabetic.

Would LOVE to see a tagging tool that allows category-specific tags.

Also, a tags/keyword "musts" section. For example, I may want every article to be tagged with at least one "keyword" from a choice if ten, and several more, depending on the content. On a sports betting site, it may be "MLB Betting statistics" from the main categories, with team names and player mentions as minor tags.

How about disabling "add new tag" to certain usergroups. I have premade tags, and don't want users adding more to it and making messy.

YES! The ordering of tags by ID is a big problem for me. The site I'm working on will have tons of tags and will also have a number of people contributing content and tagging it. Ordering the tags alphabetically (or at least having a parameter to allow for this) would be my #1 feature request. And bulk tagging would be right behind it.
