In am redoing my old Mambo site in Joomla and am interested in providing more Social networking functionality. Some other extensions I plan to use take content from Joomla Articles, put them in a carousel-like UI with photos, etc.

Does K2 use the existing Articles in Joomla as the underlying way to store content? Does moving to K2 mean that other extensions that are based on "Articles" will have any problems or should it be largely transparent?

I just installed K2 tonight and noticed that an Item does NOT seem to become a Joomla Article. So doesn't that make other components that interface at the Article level not usable with K2? I'm hoping that's not the case as that would be an unfortunate bummer. Thanks!
