I have attached three files:
1) My brief instructions on how I did it.
2) An image of what K2 Dashboard looks like.
3) An image of what my Attachments Manager looks like.

unzip contents into the "administrator/components/com_k2" folder. Allow replace of existing files.

I believe the cumbersome concept of a separate but semi-mirrored document repository that exists apart from the search engine optimized default Joomla content is a thing past. K2 delivers the capabilities of both into a single component and also adds the capabilities of several other components to its feature set.
I'm glad to see your contribution and hope to eventually see file publishing integrated into the K2 Tools Module. I await next Tuesday's bug release and will look to integrate this feature soon thereafter. THANKS!!!!!

I've been searching the forum for a solution to another issue i have with attachments - but with no luck. I thought I might ask you here as you seem to understand the inner workings a little better than me.....
When a site visitor clicks on the attachments link to download an attachment I really need a popup that asks them to enter there email and name before they can download the attachment. I then need there name, email and the name of the attachment they downloaded to be sent via email to the site administrator!!
Do you have any idea how i could achieve this?
Cheers
Emily
