K2 search engine was created by Paulo Duarte
Hello,
I can't find any categories in search result, just Items. For my current work it's alot important to find the Categories, because I don't even use the Items (just one or two).
Any easy way or do I have to develop it (maybe in k2.php, some SQL code no?) ?
Thank you,
Paulo

Hi. K2 searches for items. This is how it works. You should put your content into items. Categories are usually used to make a content structure.

Yes but Categories also have Text, and that's the part that matters... Joomla search also search in categories and sections. Hope you understand my point of view.

Of course i understand but this is how it works for now. We should consider implement this in a future release.

IMO: categories could also be page or menu titles, containing important keywords, content structure itself calls for categories to be included in the website's internal search visibility. Imagine building product catalog or any other multilevel structured content, category name and/or description simply must be part of the search.
It would be great if JW/K2 dev team could include this in future versions (2.3, 2.4)
It would made life so much easier for many people :)

JXtended Finder 2 does index and search K2 Categories, K2 Articles, extra (text) fields, tags, PDF's and Word doc(x)'s.
It's at RC2 stage.
