There should be a mailto/email extra field type.

It's possible to use the weblink but you need to erase the "http" in the URL field.

I can remember to do this, but users can't.

I would also love to see a possibillity to add a list of names linked to email addresses.
When I now add email addresses to a multi-select list, no link is added, and when I add email links (&lt;--a href="This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it." target="_blank"-->Firstname Surname<--/a-->, without '--') all html is removed, so that is not an option...
