I was wondering if someone could help me understand why blank spaces are left when you set various parameters to "hide".

I have a category where I have set most of the "Item view options in category listings" to "hide". When I create the K2 category menu item and view the page, the items have many blank spaces under the intro text where things like the read more and anchor links have been hidden. It's as if the content has been hidden but the containing divs still remain.

Does anyone know how to make those spaces disappear? Is this done by design or have I missed a setting somewhere?
