I've been trying to use avatars both threw the backend and the frontend, in both cases when uploading avatars instead of the avatar showing as an image there is a small box with the username (text) in it.

How can i get the avatars to show?
Could it be I'm using wrong pic format?

I also tried looking for an avatar gallery directory with a file manager, and could'nt find one.

Please advise.

Thanks, this worked for me but it does not benefit to my users who have not got access to the back end.

i am also having issues with my avatar showing up. the image shows up both on articles and in the backend in users with a red X on it,
