I am not sure this is a bug though.
On K2Joom, my two main categories and subcategories all have introtext limit and still have images in the items.

My images are added to each item using JCE, this allows me to search local drive, upload and then configure them, or alternatively I can pull them from any of the Joomla media folders.

For example, my guide for Modifying the Joomla Dashboard, displays images placed in the item and this has into text limit of 30 which can be seen in the category that it is saved in, K2Joom Dev

You are absolutely right.. But not this the case..
Look, in your category "K2 Category Examples" you have this item ( the category Parameters ) with a nice 3D style image - parameters. This image only shown when using limit intro text because it's added from the image-tab area.
There is another image inside the item also "parameter" floated to the right.. All This you are still right "Simon Wells".
But What happen if you remove the top " nice 3D style image - parameters."? Hence the other image ""parameter" floated to the right..will not shown if the limit intro text option available to 5..10..30..

I have disabled the item image now, the 3d image is no longer displayed, intro text is still working and the image i still floated to the right in the item.

OK that's fine.. Still my Question..
Why the item image not shown in the list after disabling the image-tab one?
If you disable the intro-limit feature you will see the item images with full text.

The problem is clear; intro limit option hide images inside text (not those added via image-tab). Try it please.
