I set my comments to allow anyone to comment. But when a registered user tries to make a quick comment but HAS NOT logged in, he is denied posting the comment saying 'that name is already in use'.
I understand why the comments system does not want people to be posting comments under a 'registered' person's name without authorization. But this is a big pain for users who just check in, want to make a quick comment and find out they have to go login, get redirected, and go back to the article they were looking at. They just won't bother.
Is it possible to put a 'login' module or link in the body of the ITEM near the comments that allows a user to login quickly but DOES NOT redirect them away from the page?
I use JomSocial and it redirects to a static page - like home, or /jomsocial, not back to where you were.
Is there another way to login a user that will not redirect you away from the page you are on? AND - can I somehow put this other way INTO the body of my Item?
