I'm using the latest stable K2 version, downloaded today..

 

The new version uses MATCH / AGAINST mysql syntax vs. the old plugin that used like %% ..

 

We created a bunch of pages with dummy lorem ipsum copy... The new plugin ignores any of that text.. if I add my name to the dummy paragraph and search my name, it finds it!

 

It makes absolutely no sense, and it's not exactly a K2 bug because I can take the query that K2 generates and run it .. I get the same problem.

 

The issue I think has to do with MATCH AGAINST, I think it's some how stripping these words.. Anyone have any thoughts?

 

My solution to the problem was to take the old K2.php search plugin and pop it in place of the new one, as soon as I did that the results came up normally.

 

It may not be a big issue for everyone but we're dealing with some sites that have hundreds of pages and we use the lorem ipsum text as place holder then search for it as we move so we can identify any pages that still need content added.

 

Besides.. if it's ignoring text that is in fact there, it's not desired behavior.
