Is there any way to automatically resize the uploaded images save in media\k2\items\src? They are apparently saved at the original file size, which is sometimes very large and is making my site backup file huge. Also, I see that K2 has created a lower resolution images set which it uses instead of the originals.
Is it safe to just delete the original file from the scr folder?

I´m also woundering about this! :) any solution?

I have set JoomlaPack to exclude files from that folder so the full size images are not included in my site backups. I just go in to \media\k2\items\src occasionally, download the images so I have a copy, and delete them. I first did it about a month ago and have not had any problems, so I'm thinking K2 only uses them once to create the various sizes it needs when the image is first uploaded.

And i think K2 uses the orignal image to re-create the various sizes if you change them after the iage is first uploaded.

Good point. I'm sure it does. I would definitely keep a backup copy if you delete them - I just didn't want them included in allof my backups. I'm up to about 300 articles now and eventually will have several thousand at any given time.

I need this function too... I need where you upload the gallery, and then click on the images, if you don't resize them yourself, it keeps them at their original size which may be 3300px x 2400px

Try changing the image settings in the k2 paramaters. This will affect only new item images

Yeah, that's the problem, the original image files are stored in K2, but there doesn't seem a way to resize all of the existing images.
