HeyI've set up a k2 user to be able to post items from the frontend, and everything works perfectly. However, if the user wants to cancel the adding, the cancel button just doesn't work. It's there, right next to the 'save' button (which does work) but nothing happens when it's clicked. Is it possible to fix this?

Well, you just use k2's login component where there's an 'add link' menulink in the menu when you've logged in. You also need to allow front end adding on a user group.

you need to create a usergroup for these users and assign them to this usergroup. while creating or editing usergroup settings you have the option to enable / disable the front end adding / editing. hope helps.

Anyone find a solution to this? I have the same issue. The cancel button does not work AND the add item page comes up in a new chromeless window instead of a lightbox.

When editing an existing K2 item from the front, all works fine.

This is a known bug.
I have tested and reported this, it is fixed and working in the V2.3svn (beta only)
