So I know that you can create your links within a menu, but I don't want to do that.I just want to simply preview my page &, for the life of me, I can't find a way to do this. I've searched high & low in the K2 component & can't find a "preview" button or anything that's generated a link for me. Now I will say that I'm still pretty green when it comes to K2 (and Joomla! for that matter) but I don't think it should be this hard to find a preview link that doesn't just go to the index page where the item I created doesn't exist as it isn't published.

I think what you need here is a hidden menu. Just create a new menu in menu manager, call it hidden menu or anything else but don't publish it. You can then use it create links to your articles or categories in the usual way, they won't show up anywhere but you can now link to them in other articles or whatever you want.
