Hello, I am trying to figure out how the change the text that's says "Featured" to some other text of my choosing? Ive have been looking around in the different css files, but I cant figure out how to change it. Can anyone help with this? Thanks

You will need to modify the following: /language/en-GB/en-GB.com_k2.ini
Look for Line 42: FEATURED

You will find many goodies in there to tweak.

If you want to remove the words "Written by" from in front of the authors name can I just delete "Written by" after the equal sign in the that file?

Yes you can, make a back up first though.
