I've had my site running for over 6 months, all my articles are indexed by google, bing, and yahoo.  Only proble is my images used in my k2 articles are not indexed in any of those search engines.  I've checked my robots.txt file and made sure that the default deny on images folder has been removed but still nothing.  Anyone else having this issue?

To be sure put K2 images folder in robots.txt, "allow".

And media/k2/ folder too. More important.

I'm facing the same problem, my site been running for almost 6 months too. These are the things I did:

1) Edited robot.txt (by default, Joomla blocks /images/ directory from crawlers (Disallow: /images/)

2) Removed this line from robot.txt

 

Then I monitored for 2 days, it didn't make much changes, except that I saw two images in the header appearing in Google Image search. 

 

3) I edited the Robot.txt again and Disallow: /plugins/ line. I blocked everything else under /plugins/ except /plugins/content/ (because I use joomslide plugin and it reside here- my understanding...

 

4) Wait for many days, now I see that it's indexing images, but VERY VERY slowly!! Images in my latest article is indexed by Google image search.

 

In short, whichever the plugin you use for your images on the site, crawling is controlled by robot.txt and it take many many days before get indexed. So have more patience....and closely monitor your site using webmasters.google.com tool too what's being blocked by robot.txt and what sort of error it shows there...
