I have a search module in the left column and other modules in the right column, when I do a search the results take up the whole site, the left and right columns are gone and I can't figure out how to stop this or connect an itemid to the search results page.

Default.php,.....style it how you want. also assign the modules you want to the search module.

You can't assign modules to modules..
