Hi folks, It will soon be obvious that I am way new to K2. I have two super-ultra-beginner questions:What exactly does Extra Fields mean? Are they like extensions?And how about Extra Field Groups?I'm sure there will be more to come :)Thanks!

When you add an article in joomla you can only put information in the article text or body.
When you add an item (which takes the place of an article) in k2 you have more choices
You can add extra fields to hold the same information on each item such as
price
address
email
or other descriptive things...
Extra field groups are a group of extra fields you want to show up when you create an item belonging to a certian category, that is you can have different extra fields for different k2 categories

Extra fields,. belong to their own respective categories. i.e ( if you have two categories CLOTHES & CARS) CLOTHES can have size as an extra field: and CARS can have make as an extra-field,...This would be distinguished from each other by the Extra fields group. Hence we will have

Extra fields group ----> CLOTHES

---

> size

Extrafields group

---

> CARS

---

> Make
Makes it easier for you when you are adding content.

The best advice is to play around with it,...K2 is only limited by your imagination
