Item ID was created by Phil Cox
I'm starting to work with K2 and would like to know how to remove the item ID from the URL of the article? For instance I have URLS that are as followws:-www.domain.com/home/item/383-here-is-the-article.what I'd like is to have www.domain.com/here-is-the-article...So I want to lose the /home/item/article ID that prefixes all articles.Any help gratefully recieved.Regards,

Do you have Joomla SEF and mod_rewrite enabled?
Have you renamed the htaccess.txt to .htaccess in your Joomla root folder?

You would need to add a rule in the .htaccess to remove this.

imo it isn't possible with Core Sef you will have to install a 3DP component for SEF URLs to do so.

OK I have Advance SEF as well as sef404 and it is not clear on how to remove this article ID's. Surely it is a function of K2?
Cheers

Actually I have a similar issue when it comes to the URL for the users profile. There as well I have something similar which shows the SEF'd URL as including the users UID.... Very nasty... How to remove?
www.domain.com/home/itemlist/user/62-usersname/
I really really don't want all these useless directories www.domain.com/username It's enough.
Any ideas please?
Cheers
