I need to change the default value in the frontend editor to "unpublished", i e have a check mark in the radio button for Unpublished. Which PHP file controls this?

I'm still hoping that someone may give me a hint on where to change. I don't even know if K2 is relying on Joomlas core publishing feature.

Try checking the user group settings. tell it No to publish items for the group in questions and see what happens

But this will prevent users from publishing, which I don't want to achieve. I have come to the conclusion that the problem has to do with the limited features of frontend publishing: The frontend doesn't provide enough possibilities to be of real service when you have several editors working on a website and they must have full control of their material. I have to let them publish via the admin control panel, but at the cost of security. Joomla really needs a much better UAC.
