I have used K2 on several sites, and even if i have had to fix some issues with jwsig and stuff, i have been very satisfied with this component. Lately i have had to migrate some of my customers old Joomla 1.0 sites, and as a consequence dealing with migration of articles, importing them into the new site, and then after installing k2 trying to import these artices from com_content to k2's items. With the first five sites everything went well, but today suddenly the import did not work. No error message, the k2 says "import completed", but no articles in the itemslist....the only difference with this site and the other is that it's Joomla 1.5.18. I have checked the database in phpadmin, but nothing .I've read something about issues with to many articles, size and php.ini, but i don't know where to start looking. It's the same server, same configuration and ownerships. It's quite a number of articles, but the "Completed" message comes up very quick. And enabling mbstring is activated.I would be eternally grateful if anybody out there could help me out on this. A small step in the right direction.Best regards from Joomla and k2 lover in Norway:-)

How difficult would it be to back up to a version before 1.5.18 and verify that its the joomla version?
I understand why you wouldnt want to do that if youve done a lot of joomla work before k2

Hi,

OK, I just setup a clean install of 1.5.18 with sample data.
Installed k2 and then pressed Import and all worked fine.

How many cats and articles do you have?
Is it the same version of K2?

I'm trying to change the memory limit on the server now. When i run debug i saw that memory usage was over 117M, and i think the limit in the php settings are 112M.. I have used the same version of K2 in all my sites.(2.2)

I'll report back when i have tested. I hope it's just a memory issue. It's over 200 articles, but mostly text.

Thank you all for trying to help!:-)

HAHA:-) I found it!

It was not the memory, nor the k2 installation, OR anything with the server config settings, i suddenly noticed that all the contentitems i Joomla was missing section name. The migration sql dump from the old site had lost the sections, but had the categories intact. I entered some sections, and moved articles into them, tried the Import button again, and VOILA:-) Ahhh...

Well, maybe this is good to know for somebody else, i thought that because K2 did not have any sections, this would not be an issue, but it was.

Tnx again for your quick respons, I'll be back:-)

Good night from Norway:-)

I think it's important to share the experiences, so that others don't have to use countless hours with frustration:-P
That's the way it should be. Happy to have solved the issue, and learned a important thing about migration from 1.0. Tnx for the support and good luck with k2! It's a great Joomla Component!!

Regards,
Grethe
