Typically this is caused by a js conflict.
Do you have Simple Image Gallery loaded? as thats a normal cuase as the effect is set to a js action.
If you do use it, then try using a mootools type.

You may have to enable debugging on your site to see what is causing it.

Also, do you have any issue with font resize and adding ratings?
